03 · About her

Meet Roxi

  • 168 cm, curvy and energetic

  • Early twenties, fluent English
  • Boxing workouts, podcasts and cold-water surfing
  • Pimlico home; on a surf trip until 28 September
// Home district

Energy is the first thing Roxi brings into a room, and a little sparkle is the second. Curvy at 168 cm, she has black hair that swings long whenever she turns and brown eyes permanently on the edge of a laugh. Her glamour has a tropical brightness to it: a coral dress, gold hoops, a flower clip in her hair on a warm night, nails painted something cheerful. In her early twenties, she is vivacious in the most infectious way, and a quiet table rarely stays quiet for long.

Roxi trains at a boxing gym four mornings a week, which explains both the confidence and the posture. She listens to podcasts on everything from unsolved mysteries to economics while she runs, and brings the best stories to dinner. Surfing is her escape, cold water on the Cornish coast whenever she can get away. Playful and quick in fluent English, she can talk to anyone, and she has a knack for getting a shy guest laughing within ten minutes.

In Soho she heads for The Palomar on Rupert Street, where a long zinc bar faces the open kitchen and the chefs have been known to start the music themselves. She grabs two stools at the counter, orders a string of small plates to share, and joins in when the room gets loud. Afterwards there is always one more place she wants to show you, a cocktail bar or a late walk under the Chinatown lanterns, before she lets you lead the way back to your hotel.

A surf trip keeps Roxi away from her Pimlico flat until the 28th. Pencil in a late evening near Chinatown through booking, and she will be back, salt still in her hair, ready to talk about waves.

04 · The evening

An evening with Roxi

Roxi's perfect night starts loud and ends laughing. She meets you at eight, still buzzing from a boxing session, in a bright dress and gold earrings, and asks what you have been listening to lately. Whatever you say, she has a podcast episode that is better.

Dinner is at a counter where you can watch the kitchen and the chefs occasionally dance. She orders too much, shares all of it and dares you to try the spiciest thing on the menu. Afterwards a quick detour under the Chinatown lanterns for bubble tea, because she insists, then back to the hotel, where she tells surf stories so vividly you can almost hear the waves breaking on a cold Cornish beach at dawn.

// In her words

Somewhere cold and beautiful with a board under my arm. I am back on the twenty eighth, sun-kissed and absolutely starving.

Only at eight in the morning, in the gym. By the evening I am all bad jokes and big smiles.

Anything about a mystery nobody ever solved. Then we can spend the whole dinner arguing about who really did it.
