At 176 cm, Stacy is often eye to eye with the doormen, and she enjoys that more than she lets on. Slim and long-limbed, with near-black brown hair falling long and brown eyes that miss nothing, she dresses for the night in edgy metallic glamour: a silver slip, cropped biker leather, and either chunky boots or skyscraper heels depending on the plan. In her early twenties, bold and sharp-witted, she walks down Old Compton Street as if it had been built as her runway.

Spontaneity is her whole approach. Stacy says yes to the unplanned: a comedy gig with ten minutes to curtain, a night bus to nowhere in particular, a photograph of a stranger's neon-lit face that turns out to be the best shot of the month. Street photography is her passion, snowboarding her winter obsession, and stand-up comedy her guilty pleasure, the rougher the open mic night the better. Her English is quick and very funny. She adores a guest who can laugh at himself.

Most of her nights are anchored by Soho Theatre, halfway along Dean Street, where the downstairs room hosts some of the most promising comedians in London and the bar at street level stays busy late. She picks a late show, sits close enough to risk being included, and laughs louder than anyone. Afterwards she takes a few photographs of the neon on Dean Street, lets you see them, and leads the way back to your hotel through the late crowds.

Short notice is welcome on most nights, with Chelsea only a cab ride away. If tonight is the night, message booking with your hotel near Piccadilly Circus or anywhere in W1, and she will move quickly.

04 · The evening

An evening with Stacy

Stacy's best evenings begin with a message at eight and a plan by nine. She meets you in the lobby in silver and leather, camera strap over one shoulder, and announces there is a late comedy show you are both going to. You are.

She sits near the front and laughs until she has to wipe her eyes. Afterwards, on Dean Street, she photographs the neon and the people spilling out of bars, then tells you a snowboarding story that is only mostly exaggerated. There is one more drink in a place with loud music and low lights, then the walk back to the hotel, where she drops the camera, kicks off the boots and stays bold, funny and spontaneous until the night runs out.

// In her words

If you message at eight, I can usually be with you by nine. I have done my make-up in the back of a taxi more than once.

Never on purpose. But if we sit in the front row, that is between you and the comedian.

Neon, rain and faces. Soho after midnight is the best free exhibition in London, and it changes every single night.
