03 · About her

Meet Thea

  • Caramel blonde hair, long and layered; green eyes
  • Late twenties, friendly English
  • Japanese food, hill walking and cycling
  • South Kensington home; hiking until 22 September
// Home district

Thea always seems freshly back from a hilltop in good weather, and quite often she is. Curvy at 165 cm, she has caramel blonde hair falling long in soft layers and green eyes that brighten when she is amused, which is most of the time. Her glamour is natural and sunlit: a simple knit dress, minimal make-up, freckles left alone, a warm coat and boots she can genuinely walk in. In her late twenties, she is proof that polish and ease can share one person.

Down to earth is the phrase everyone reaches for, and it fits. Thea is cheerful without trying, as warm with waiters and doormen as she is with you, and completely unpretentious about good things. Given a free weekend she is off hiking; given a weekday she cycles across London rather than hailing taxis, and loves Japanese food with a passion that extends to simmering her own ramen broth on Sundays. Her English is friendly and relaxed, full of laughter and good questions.

Supper with Thea is simple and rewarding. She suggests Bone Daddies on Peter Street, a lively ramen bar with loud music and steaming bowls, where she orders with the confidence of someone who knows her broths. Two stools, two bowls, a cold beer each and a great deal of laughing. Afterwards a slow walk along Berwick Street towards your hotel, a nightcap and cheerful conversation that makes the evening feel like time with someone you have known for years.

Away on a hiking week until the 22nd, Thea is normally based in South Kensington. Leave a request for an easy supper with booking, and she will be back for evenings across the West End, trail stories included.

04 · The evening

An evening with Thea

Thea's perfect evening is refreshingly uncomplicated. She cycles most places, so she locks the bike to a railing outside, arrives with pink cheeks and a smile, swaps her trainers for boots in the lobby and asks if you are hungry. You are, by now.

The ramen comes fast and hot, and she shows you how to eat it properly, which involves more noise than you expected. There is talk of mountain trails, a bicycle she is saving for and a very funny story involving a sheep and a wrong turn. Afterwards a gentle walk through the lanes of Soho, a nightcap at your hotel and a long, relaxed conversation. Nothing is performed. Thea is simply warm, cheerful and good company, and the time goes very fast.

// In her words

Up a hill with a lot of sheep and a flask of tea. I am back on the twenty second and already craving a proper bowl of ramen.

Almost. London looks better from a bike, and I arrive awake and cheerful, which helps everyone.

Loudly and quickly, before the noodles soften. I will demonstrate first, you just have to be brave.
