Blondes: four names who take Soho before dark
FOUR ON THIS CARD. Honey, caramel, bright gold and a loose wave, each worn long. It is the shortest card the house keeps, and it holds a pattern nobody arranged: these are the four who make the earlier half of an evening worth paying for, the hours when crates are still going into cellars and the good tables have not been claimed.
Colour is all the card sorts. The board beneath it does not move for daylight: £250 an hour, £400 for ninety minutes, £500 for two, her journey across Zones 1 and 2 already inside the figure.
Blondes, tonight
Everyone listed under blondes, taken from her file rather than a guess. Open a card for rates and a message with her name.
Four o'clock, and a gallery wall
Cindy keeps the earliest diary here, lunchtime through to early evening. She is 168 cm and slim, blue eyed, the blonde falling in waves rather than straight, and she sails and practises yoga when London lets her. Give her a photography show somewhere behind Regent Street, a few minutes from Oxford Circus, and she will go round it twice, then lose the rest of the hour at the book table. Ninety minutes at £400 is the length that suits her.
Five o'clock, and a flower stall
Nora is 166 cm, honey blonde, hazel eyed, and built by an outdoor life. She designs clothes, which is why an afternoon with her drifts towards the fabric floors of the big department store on the Carnaby side of the parish, and why she cannot pass the florist at its doors without buying a single stem for her lapel. Champagne follows, on the grounds that a Tuesday is reason enough. A day of notice suits her, or the evening your flight lands.
Seven o'clock, and the light going
Nancy is 170 cm with blue eyes and hair the colour of the hour she likes best. Early thirties, easy with strangers, a morning swimmer who thinks nothing of driving four hours for a coastline. She wants two seats at a counter with a grill behind it, most often up on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia, and the room noisy enough to lean in. Three hours at £700 covers dinner and the walk back. Weekend evenings are best settled by the Wednesday.
Nine o'clock, and steam on the glass
Thea is 165 cm, caramel blonde and green eyed, and she walks hills at weekends for the pleasure of the descent. Supper with her is the loudest ramen bar in the parish, two stools, two bowls, a cold beer each and a great deal of laughing at the noise. Ninety minutes at £400 is plenty for it. Her page shows which evenings she is back in town for.
Four shades, written as worn
Hair is recorded as she wears it now, not as a photograph once caught it. Nancy holds the brightest end of the four, Nora and Thea the warmer honey and caramel middle, and Cindy wears hers in waves. Two blue eyed, one green, one hazel. That is the whole of the physical description this house publishes, and the portraits are left to do everything else.
Where else the four stand
Two of this card carry the fuller figure of curvaceous, one the long clean line of slim and slender, and one the outdoor build of toned and athletic, so the cards are worth reading together rather than in sequence. Three sit in the late twenties band and one above it. If gold is not what you had in mind, brunettes runs to fifteen names.
Holding an afternoon
Daylight is the easiest thing this door arranges, because nothing is competing for the room yet. Send a name, an address and the hour you want her there. Three details get confirmed on WhatsApp before anything is held, then a quarter of the fee by bank transfer secures it and the rest is settled quietly at the start, in cash or by transfer carrying a discreet reference. A straightforward hour in your room works with all four, and a plan changed three hours ahead costs nothing.
